Legal Tech Startup Darrow Launches PlaintiffLink, AI-Powered Plaintiff-Finding Service

Darrow’s AI-powered PlaintiffLink aims to connect law firms with high-qualified plaintiffs for their cases. Though it was previously offered in beta to a select group of firms, the offering is now available to all customers.

Israel-based legal tech startup Darrow released PlaintiffLink, its new service to help plaintiff law firms find and engage with potential clients, on Wednesday.

The announcement comes after Darrow, which presents itself as a “justice intelligence platform” that offers business development tool for litigation teams, raised $35 million in a series B funding round in September 2023 led by investment firm Georgian and including existing investors F2, Entrée Capital and NFX.

At the time, the company had noted that it planned to use this investment to add staff in its research and development and “go to market” functions.

What It Is: PlaintiffLink is Darrow’s newest service, meant to help law firms connect with high-qualified plaintiffs for their cases. Though it was previously offered in beta to a select group of firms, the offering is now available to all customers.

Using the service, legal professionals can review, suggest and approve plaintiffs characteristics. Once the characteristics are approved, users can then launch a “campaign” through PlaintiffLink, where all incoming leads will go through a two-tiered qualification system to filter the best candidates.

“Having this one centralized platform that offers both a two-tiered qualification system to the plaintiff leads that come in, bespoke tailored landing pages, the tracking of ad spend, efficient document collection, this is all really tailored to increase the efficiency and allow law firms to focus on litigating the cases,” explained Etia Rottman Frand, head of sales at Darrow.

PlaintiffLink then lets users track their progress by sending real-time updates on the status of their campaign.

Under the Hood: Frand noted that PlaintiffLink “combines AI and human intelligence.” A spokespeson for the company added that PlaintiffLink is based on a large language model and uses multi-modal generative AI techniques to automate campaigns.

The Competition: Darrow isn’t the only legal technology startup that offers business development tools for legal professionals. Priori Legal, for example, is a legal technology and services platform that offers an outside counsel marketplace and related data analytics and insights.

However, Frand said she sees Darrow standing out in the market because the company is currently focusing on the business development of plaintiff law firms.

“The unique combination between the AI that we offer and the human intelligence that Darrow can offer with our team of legal experts, that is really something that I feel is unique that Darrow provides in this kind of microcosm,” she added.
